Members of the Executive Management Committee (EMC) of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), on Wednesday, October 11, participated in a private sector discussion session with a trade delegation from Brazil, which is currently in Guyana on a five-day visit from October 10-14.

Held at Parc Rayne on the East Bank Demerara, the session saw the participation of representatives from approximately 40 businesses out of Brazil.
The GCCI was represented by President, Mr. Kester Hutson, Senior Vice President, Mr. Richard Rambarran and Secretary, Mrs. Kathy Smith. The GCCI along with the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA) were a part of the interactive session that saw information sharing between the BSOs and the Brazilian businesses.
Making remarks at the session, Mr. Hutson conveyed that the GCCI would always encourage any engagement that seeks to strengthen the relationship between Guyana and Brazil. He said that the Chamber looks forward to the building out of relationships between companies in Brazil and Guyana, enabling skills transfer and expanded trade relations.
Also making a presentation, Mr. Rambarran assured the Brazilian businesses that the GCCI stands ready to support their undertakings in Guyana for the mutual benefit of businesses from both countries.
