GCCI meets with trade delegation led by the Energies Industrial Council (EIC) and the Aberdeen International Associates (AIA)

Mr. Richard Rambarran, the Senior Vice President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and Chair of the Chamber’s Petroleum committee, met with an incoming trade delegation led by the Energies Industrial Council (EIC) and the Aberdeen International Associates (AIA) on April 20, 2023.

The delegation consists of eight companies from diverse sectors who are currently visiting Guyana to explore business opportunities in the petroleum industry. During the meeting, Mr. Niel Mcintosh, AIA delegation leader, emphasized that the purpose of the engagement was to assist the incoming delegation in learning more about how the Chamber can provide support by identifying potential local partners that align with their interests.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for each visiting company to introduce themselves and the sectors they currently serve.

The petroleum sector is a key driver of Guyana’s economy, with significant potential for growth in the coming years. The visit by EIC, AIA and their delegation highlights the growing interest of international companies in the sector and the importance of collaboration between local and international businesses.

The role of GCCI in supporting the sector is crucial. It plays a vital role in identifying potential partners and increasing public trust in businesses operating in the sector. By doing so, GCCI helps to foster a more robust and sustainable business environment.

Also present were: Ms. Natalia Bawolska, delegation lead, Mr. Kester Hutson, President, GCCI and Mr. Pietro Ferreira, EIC Delegation Analyst.
