GCCI hosts “Investment Breakfast” to educate on investment opportunities/incentives

Investment opportunities in Guyana continue to heighten, given the country’s rapid economic growth over the past few years. With opportunities on the rise, it is of utmost importance to pinpoint the options and how local businesses can take advantage of them.

As such, yesterday, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) held an “Investment Breakfast” seminar at the Marriott Hotel, Kingston, Georgetown, to facilitate discussions on investment opportunities and incentives. The forum was well attended by members of the Chamber and, also in attendance was the Chief Investment Officer/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GO-Invest, Dr. Peter Ramsaroop, who gave an impactful and enlightening speech on understanding investment and investment incentives in Guyana.

Dr. Ramsaroop emphasized the importance of private sector participation now more than ever since Guyana’s economy is seeing rapid boosts in light of our oil production. Stating that “the private sector is more important than they think they are”, he urged the business owners/representatives to leap into the industry and utilize GO-Invest, which serves as one of the main gateways into Guyana’s fast-growing economy.

Yesterday’s activity also featured a question and answer segment where the business representatives/owners voiced pivotal concerns regarding investment opportunities and incentives. The open dialogue allowed for more participation and learning, which was among today’s primary objectives.

The Chamber intends to host more activities like today’s as we are keen on private sector development and inclusion as Guyana’s economy touches new heights.
