On October 31, 2022, GCCI’s Construction committee met with the Government Technical Institute’s Principal, Ms. Renita Crandon-Duncan and Welfare Officer, Ms. Alero Proctor. During the engagement, Mr. Howard had the opportunity to give a synopsis of the Chamber’s role and its sub-committees by extension.

The Committee’s chair, Mr. Howard pointed out the need for a deepened relationship between the two entities, particularly through GTI’s apprenticeship programme and curriculum development.

Mr. Howard also expressed the Chamber’s willingness to support the work of the institute where necessary. In this regard, Mrs. Crandon-Duncan highlighted a few areas in which the Chamber will be able to provide assistance to the institute as well as some much-needed interventions.
