GCCI Makes Contributions at Go-Invest Meeting with BSOs

President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Kester Hutson on Thursday, January 25 represented the Chamber at a strategic meeting that the Guyana Office for Investment held with various business support organizations at its Camp and Church Street Office.
The meeting was led by Head of Go-Invest and Chief Investment Officer, Dr. Peter Ramsaroop. Also present from Go-Invest were Senior Director of Investment, Mr John Edghill, and Chief Financial Office, Mr. Christian Tebogah.
 
Dr. Ramsaroop explained that the meeting focused on how Go-Invest can meaningfully collaborate with the various BSOs to shape the investment climate, develop a mechanism to brand and promote locally made products abroad, and coordinate with the BSOs to include the private sector when Guyana fields overseas trade missions.
In the interactive session, Dr. Ramsaroop shared some of the initiatives that are part of the Go-Invest work programme for the year, noting that Go-Invest is looking to integrate the private sector into the various initiatives.
Mr. Hutson shared some of the ventures the GCCI is currently working on, including the spearheading of the Guyana delegation to the upcoming renowned Offshore Technology Conference.
From the private sector the meeting also saw representatives from the Private Sector Commission (PSC), Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA), the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Guyana (WCCI-G), and the Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG).
