The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its second Business Investment Seminar on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the Marriot Hotel, Kingston, Georgetown. This edition was hosted under the theme “Financial Sector Development: Government’s Medium-Term Outlook.”

The lead speaker at the event was the Honourable Minister of Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh.
The Minister’s speech highlighted critical areas of the financial sector that require development that will secure Guyana as the premier investment hub for the diasporic, international community, and local investors.

Attendees also benefited from the presentation of the “Financial Demand Survey” by Dr. Natasha Gaskin-Peters, CEO of the Centre for Local Business Development (CLBD). The CLBD in collaboration with the GCCI surveyed businesses across the various industries in Guyana during the period February-March 2022, with the aim of understanding the demand for finance.

Subsequent to the presentations, attendees were able to engage the speakers in open dialogue during the question and answer segment.
