PSC Chairman passes away

(www.biznow.gy) Chairman of Guyana’s Private Sector Commission (PSC), Ronald Webster has died.

Former Chairman of the PSC, Ramesh Dookhoo, told BIZNOW on Sunday morning  that Webster passed away around 3:30am today at the Balwant Singh Hospital. He had recently returned from neighbouring Trinidad and Tobago and was being treated for a cancer related illness.

Webster served as the PSC Chairman for the last two years and has been credited with further strengthening the relationship between government and the business community. Under his stewardship, the PSC has played a leading role in negotiations between the Parliamentary Opposition and the Administration as it relates to several important projects and issues of national importance.

Webster was also Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Caribbean Container Inc. at the time of his passing. He has also served as the President of the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA).
