GCCI meets with Massy Guyana Leadership team
A key focal area in the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) work plan is increased collaboration with the business community for the advancement of the country’s economy and business landscape. Crucial to the accomplishment of this objective is having active engagements with companies operating in Guyana, and on November 19, President of the GCCI, Mrs. Kathy Smith led a team of Executive Members and Councillors of the GCCI in a meeting with the leadership team of Massy Guyana.
The President along with Senior Vice President, Mr. Gavin Ramsoondar; Executive Member and Immediate Past President, Mr. Kester Hutson, and Councillors Mr. Devon Seeram, Ms. Mary Nagasar, Mr. Keon Howard, and Mr. Delmar Walcott engaged in the meeting at the Massy Ruimveldt location.
The Massy Guyana team comprised Assistant Vice President and General Manager of Massy Stores, Mr. Christpen Bobb-Semple; Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer for IRP, Mr. Troy Beharry; Chief Executive Officer of Massy Gas, Mr. Augustus Harris; Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Massy Motors, Mr Rohit Coonjah; Vice President (Commercial) of Massy Gas, Mr. Hekima Paul, and Head of Regional IT and Guyana Operations for Massy Remittances, Mr. Norrhan Parboo. They provided an overview of the company’s rich history in Guyana and its current operations that employs a workforce of over 1000 Guyanese.
The two parties discussed areas of concern and closer collaboration to address challenges, as well as capacity-building for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in Guyana.
