Present at the meeting were the GCCI President, Mr. Kester Hutson, and Secretary, Mrs. Kathy Smith; CEDA Manager – Competitiveness and Export Promotion, Mr. Damie Sinanan, Senior Advisor, Mrs. Natasha Edwin-Walcott, and Director of Export Trade and Marketing at the Guyana Office for Investment (Go-Invest), Mrs. Kibbyann Chester-Harding.
Over 500 delegates and 40 investors from across the globe are expected to take part in CIF 2024, which is being organized by CEDA in partnership with the Government of Guyana. CIF will focus on three specific areas: sustainable agriculture, renewable energy/energy efficiency, and digitalisation of business. The event will serve to connect investors and bankable business projects, as well as providing networking and business to business (B2B) opportunities.
With the Chamber representing the largest cross section of private sector businesses in Guyana, Mr. Sinanan said that the GCCI is a pivotal stakeholder in the event. Mr. Sinanan said that CEDA looks forward to collaborating with the Chamber to offer favourable packages to the GCCI membership, as well as offering capacity training in project proposal development, and information sessions on the event. Mr. Hutson and Mrs. Smith conveyed the Chamber’s enthusiasm to be part of the event, as well as developing a long term working relationship with CEDA to make other opportunities available for the Chamber’s membership.
