GCCI launches Investment Portal for easier link between businesses and potential investors

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry has officially launched its long-awaited Investment Portal to connect its members and start-up businesses with potential investors. A launching event was held this morning at the Marriott Hotel with executives of the Chamber, government officials, members of the diplomatic community and the local media present.

The portal which has been designed to provide an easier way for businesses to link investors seeking to fund their project provides a simple registration process and easy to use interface. The portal also enables businesses to upload a brief overview of their missions, goals and objectives and the investors will also be able to register and assess startup listings for possible investment opportunities.

At today’s event, a live demonstration on the use of the portal was given by Mr. Lance Hinds, CEO of the Brain Street Group which manned the creation of our portal. His demonstration included the registration process for both businesses and investors.

The event also featured remarks from the Chamber’s President, Mr. Timothy Tucker; Minister within the Ministry of Public Works and past President of the Chamber, Hon. Deodat Indar; and Chief Investment Officer/CEO of GO-Invest, Mr. Peter Ramsaroop.

The portal is the brainchild of our Trade and Investment Committee and is the first of its kind locally.
