GCCI invited to business mission to Dominican Republic city

President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Mr. Kester Hutson, on Thursday, March 21, attended a meeting with senior officials from the Chamber of Commerce and Production of San Pedro de Macoris (CCPSPM), where an invitation was extended for the GCCI to visit the Dominican Republic city of San Pedro de Macoris and explore collaborative business opportunities. 

Thursday’s meeting was facilitated by the Embassy of the Dominican Republic and held at the Embassy’s Offices at the Pegasus Corporate Suites. From San Pedro de Macoris those in attendance included Former Chamber President, Mr. Ramon Leonardo, Chamber Member and President of Global Controls, Mr. Angelo Tejeda, and General Manager of Rafa PC, Mr. Raymundo Ortiz. The officials conveyed their desire to see a cooperation agreement being signed between the two Chambers to strengthen commercial ties, and provide opportunities for businesses from the two countries to access investment opportunities in the short, medium and long term.

 At the meeting, Mr. Leonardo and Mr. Ortiz gave a presentation on some of the leading business industries operating in San Pedro de Macoris, and areas where there are opportunities for Guyanese products and services in DR, and products and services supplied by DR businesses which could benefit Guyana. 

Mr. Hutson conveyed the GCCI’s eagerness to work along with the San Pedro de Macoris Chamber, and work towards a business mission to the San Pedro de Macoris city. 

 

The Chamber of Commerce and Production of San Pedro de Macorisis a local organization of businesses and companies in San Pedro with the intention to develop and further the interests of local companies and businesses in the Dominican Republic. Many businesses are international operating companies with offices in the Dominican Republic.
