Export St. Lucia leads Trade Mission to Guyana to connect with business community/explore investments

St. Lucia’s National Export Promotion Agency, “Export St. Lucia”, has led a Trade Mission to Guyana, to connect with the Guyanese business community and seek possible areas for investment.

A delegation consisting of government officials such as the Honourable Emma Hippolyte, Minister for Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs and three (3) goods and services exporters arrived in Guyana on June 13, and have been engaging in business-to-business meetings. Yesterday, the delegation held a meeting at the Roraima Duke Lodge, where officials from the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) were able to meet and engage with the Minister and other members of the delegation.

The meeting featured introductions, and discussions on various topics such as relationship building between St. Lucia and Guyana, developing the Caribbean region in terms of imports and exports and the Caribbean economy. In addition, our Executive Director, Mr. Richard Ramabarran, also gave a presentation titled, “Doing Business in Guyana”, where he gave a history of Guyana’s economy and spoke on investments in Guyana and the many opportunities available to both local and foreign investors.
