The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) is currently hosting its inaugural Youth Entrepreneurship Conference (YEC) 2026, welcoming more than 265 young participants to the Arthur Chung Conference Centre.
Under the theme “Igniting Guyana’s Next Generation of Entrepreneurs,” the Conference is exposing participants to practical areas of entrepreneurship, innovation and business development.
Today’s programme features contributions from GCCI President Kathy Smith; Hon. Susan Rodrigues, M.P., Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce; John Edghill, Senior Director of Investment at GO-Invest; Salena Greaves, Manager of GBTI’s Diamond Branch; Matthew Gaul, Founder of Econome; and Mickhail McKenzie, Founder of Wallet Wisdom, with Phillip Williams serving as host.
Interactive breakout sessions are now underway, covering Agro-Processing, Art, Fashion, Design & Animation, Tourism & Hospitality, Marketing & PR, Turning Technology into Business, and AI-Augmented Entrepreneurship.
Through today’s engagement, the GCCI is creating a space for young people to explore their ideas, develop new skills and better understand the opportunities available to turn those ideas into viable businesses.
