Senior officers of the Guyana Police Force are currently benefiting from a Personal and Professional Development Symposium that was organised through a collaboration with the Guyana Police Force.

The one-day session, at the Police Officers’ Mess Hall, Eve Leary, Kingston, features expert presentations and interactive sessions on a range of topics including confidence and leadership, the entrepreneurial mindset, financial security, building a business while building a family, financial freedom, wellness and health, and NIS benefits, as well as life insurance.

In attendance and delivering remarks were Minister of Home Affairs, Hon. Oneidge Walrond, Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation, Hon. Zulfikar Ally, and Commissioner of Police, Mr. Clifton Hicken.

President of the GCCI, Mrs. Kathy Smith in her welcome to the participants stated that the event is an important collaboration geared towards developing a better relationship between the GPF and the public through positive interactions and representation, and in building a foundation of success for the ranks, during their service and post-public service life.

“When you examine the agenda, you would note that we are seeking to groom you for success in every aspect of life, professional, family, and entrepreneurial. We want you to succeed at every stage, and it begins now. Your discipline will play a crucial role in this process. As we have conversations, it is important that you examine your role, how you perform, the improvements needed based on these discussions, and how you can better prepare yourself for the future,” she posited.
