GCCI attends Ministry of Labour’s Annual Occupational Safety and Health Walk
Earlier today, the Executive Management Committee and members of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), led by President Kester Hutson, hit the road to attend the Ministry of Labour’s annual safety and health walk. This event was held in recognition of occupational health and safety month, which is an important initiative that promotes safe and healthy working environments for all employees.
The theme for this year’s walk was “a safe and healthy working environment is a fundamental principle and a right at work.” It was heartening to see various government and private agencies come together at the Ministry of Labour’s headquarters at 82 Brickdam at 6:00 a.m. to participate in this event. The walk concluded at the Square of the Revolution, where the participants were able to hear from Honourable Joseph Hamilton, the Minister of Labour.
GCCI wishes to encourage all members that as professionals, it is our responsibility to ensure that our workplaces are safe and healthy for all employees. By participating in events like these, we can raise awareness about the importance of occupational health and safety and work towards creating a better future for our workforce.
