Mr. Richard Rambarran
Councillor and Executive Member

Mr. Richard Rambarran is a Councillor and Ex-Officio Executive Member of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), and he has served the Chamber for over 10 years in varying capacities. He currently serves as the Chairperson of the Petroleum Committee.
In 2017, Mr. Rambarran was appointed Executive Director of the GCCI, a role that he held for five years. He later transitioned to the position of Advisor and Economic Consultant, following which he was elected as Senior Vice President of the GCCI, and Chairman of the Petroleum Committee and served up to April 2024.
Currently, he represents NCB Capital Markets as its Country Manager for Guyana and Suriname, and is the firm’s representative at the GCCI. Mr. Rambarran also serves on the Investment Committee of the Natural Resource Fund of Guyana, where he advises on investment management, economics, finance, capital markets and development. An exemplary Economics professional with almost 15 years of experience, he was the recipient of the GCCI’s Young Business Executive Award in 2021.
His professional experience is vast, with Mr. Rambarran holding key roles in prominent organisations, locally and internationally. These numerous professional accomplishments are underpinned by his academic achievements which include a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, and three Master’s Degrees in Oil and Gas Management, Business Administration, and Economics, respectively. He has also earned several licenses and certificates in the economics sphere from globally recognised institutions.
