GCCI meets with the Ambassador of Finland to the Caribbean, His Excellency Pertti Ikonen

The Executive Director of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and members of the Executive Management Committee met with the Ambassador of Finland, His Excellency Pertti Ikonen and his delegation on October 19, 2022.

The meeting served as a follow-up to the “Doing Business with Finland” Seminar in 2020 which emerged as a result of a partnership between the Chamber and Finnpartnership.

Low mercury mining in Guyana, bilateral commercial connections and the diversification of Guyana’s trade portfolio, particularly exports to Finland based on market needs assessment, were some of the subjects covered.

The Ambassador conveyed his delight to be back in Guyana as well as his willingness to continue partnering with the Chamber.
