Mr. Kester Hutson meets with City of Miami Chairwoman to enhance communication and collaboration between GCCI and the City of Miami
On March 28, 2023, Mr. Kester Hutson, the President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), met with Ms. Christine King, the Chairwoman of the City of Miami. The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen the working and communicative relationship between the City of Miami and the GCCI.
Ms. King’s journey to her current position is an inspiring one. She began her career as a volunteer in a Miami-Dade County Commission office over 30 years ago. Her dedication to public service has led her to become a full-time Commissioner, and she was recently elected as the Chair of the City Commission. Ms. King is a trailblazer in her field, being the first Guyanese American and the only female attorney to be elected to the Miami board.
Born in Kitty, Ms. King is proud of her Guyanese heritage, which she promoted during her campaign. She credits her upbringing as a significant contributing factor to the woman she is today. Her commitment to public service and her passion for her roots make her a valuable asset to the City of Miami.
The meeting between Mr. Hutson and Ms. King was a significant step towards building a stronger relationship between the City of Miami and the GCCI. Both parties recognize the importance of collaboration and communication in achieving their goals.
