GCCI Donates $1M to CDC to Support National Flood Relief Efforts

June 18, 2021 –Today, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) presented a cheque of $1M to aid the national flood relief efforts undertaken by the Civil Defense Commission (CDC). GCCI President, Timothy Tucker, presented the cheque to Lt. Col. Kester Craig, Director General of the Civil Defense Commission, during a simple handover ceremony held at the CDC Headquarters.

The donation represents a continuation of a series of engagements that the GCCI has been having with the CDC. The GCCI, through its membership, continues to facilitate donations that will aid the CDC’s efforts in communities affected by flooding across the country.

The GCCI is pleased to be able to contribute further to the laudable efforts of the CDC and strongly encourages the business community to continue its support of ongoing flood relief exercises.
