GCCI discusses education and business opportunities with DR Embassy and UG business school

Councilor of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Mr. Rayad Boyce, on Thursday, February 8, 2024, represented the Chamber at a meeting held by the Embassy of the Dominican Republic with the University of Guyana (UG), where discussions were held on the opening of new avenues for educational exchange and the promotion of business development.

Mr. Boyce is the GCCI representative on the UG School of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation (SEBI) Advisory Board, through an Memorandum of Understanding that the GCCI has with the University. This meeting was facilitated by the GCCI and symbolized a shared commitment to education that transcends borders, focusing on innovative programs in key areas such as entrepreneurship, sustainable tourism, and supply chain management.

The meeting was led by His Excellency Ambassador Ernesto Torres Pereyra, the Embassy Comercial Council Mr. Alexander Serante was also present. In attendance from the UG were Dean of the School of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation, Prof. Leyland Lucas.
The DR Embassy noted that they are optimistic about the opportunities that the dialogue presents for the future, and they are eager to explore new paths for mutual growth and success.
