GCCI & AVANSANT Foundation host Digital Skills Training Information Seminar
The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) partnered with the AVASANT Foundation to host a Digital Skills Training Information Seminar on Wednesday, January 23rd, 2020 at the Office of the Chamber.
The seminar, which was facilitated by Chitra Rajeshwari, Executive Director of AVASANT Foundation, was well attended by representatives of a number of member companies involved in information communication technology (ICT) training.
The AVASANT Foundation is the executing agency for the Digital Skills Training Program which is being funded by the IDB Lab. Through the program, disadvantaged youth will be trained in demand-driven technology and soft skills.
Avasant Foundation (AF) is a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization in the State of California, established under the aegis of Avasant LLC (Avasant). The foundation works to improves lives and communities by empowering high potential, deserving youth in developing countries through education, employment and entrepreneurship initiatives in the new digital economy.
The training program is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2020. Avasant seeks to partner with local training institutes in order to leverage local knowledge and facilities. Local businesses are also encouraged to tap into the foundation’s job bank resource.
