GCCI and the Guyana School of Agriculture collaborate in the “STOP PLASTIC POLLUTION” Campaign

On Friday, October 6th, the Chairperson of the Green Economy Committee of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, Ms Shaleeza Shaw interacted with the Management and Students of the Guyana School of Agriculture (GSA). During the visit, Ms. Shaw shared the committee’s campaign to alleviate plastic pollution through youths as we continue to witness littered drains, pathways, and the act of persons throwing items out of their vehicles onto roadways.
The CEO of GSA, Mr Gavin Ramnarain applauded the initiative and challenged the students to be ambassadors of the cause. He also mentioned that the school will be moving away from the use of plastic bottles in the near future and was pleased to be selected to be a part of this initiative.
The banner supporting the campaign will be left with the GSA until the end of the month. In the next months, the Chamber’s Green Economy Committee will welcome new schools to the initiative.
