A&S Enterprises seeking to expand with new waste-to-energy/carbon capture technology
Despite the increase in the cost of living worldwide, local company A&S Enterprises has been using these challenging times to embrace the Guyanese economy and provide opportunities which align with local content strategy. This is thanks to the innovative thinking of its Founder/Director, Mr. Shaam Outar.
The businessman has chosen to locally expand his company with the support of international companies that specialize in the supply of technical manpower, local recruitment and training services, project verification and audit services, and provision of diving services both onshore and offshore; civil engineering, supply of plant and equipment, modular accommodation and Introduction of new Waste to Energy / Carbon Capture Technology. Mr. Outar was able to materialize his thoughts of expansion by seeking advice and guidance from his international network of contacts, some of whom he engaged on his visit to Aberdeen, Scotland. The businessman is seeking to create strategic alliance with one of the worldโs largest Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning Contractors (EPCCs) whilst ensuring compliance with the Local Content Act 2021.
A&S Enterprise was established in 1987, as a sole trader business. Over the years, it has been importing beauty and health care products and pharmaceuticals, both OTC and prescription drugs from the USA, Canada, England and Europe.
However, as its customer base grew, the company sought to expand its sourcing from India, Thailand, Pakistan and China, and its range of products now comprises a wide range of supermarket goods. Currently, A&S Enterprises represents seven manufacturing companies from the USA and Thailand; and two (2) from Turkey, Brazil, Croatia and El Salvador.
Its storage facility is located at Lot 5-C, New Road, Vreed-En-Hoop, and distributes products to major supermarkets and grocery stores around the country.
