GCCI meets with TechnipFMC Area Director

President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Mr. Kester Hutson on Thursday, January 18, met with TechnipFMC Area Director for Guyana, Suriname and Trinidad, Mr. Nicolas Sicard at the GCCI Waterloo Street Office.
The meeting was also attended by TechnipFMC Business Development Manager, Mr. Sheldon Carew. Mr. Sicard conveyed the TechnipFMC’s excitement at being part of the phenomenal oil and gas sector currently being built out in Guyana. Mr. Sicard underscored the company’s commitment to local content and investing in Guyana, noting that over 90 percent of the company’s total suppliers are local.
Mr. Hutson shared about the Chamber’s persistent work to continue to advocate for local content, as well as encouraging local businesses to work together in order to capitalise on major opportunities. Mr. Carew noted that TechnipFMC continues to invest in training current and potential local suppliers, and would look forward to collaborating with the GCCI to also set up training and sensitization sessions with the Chamber’s membership so that they can be best positioned to capitalise on procurement opportunities.
