French Delegation pays courtesy call on the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI)
On October 18, 2022, the GCCI’s, President, Mr. Timothy Tucker, Executive Director, Mr. Richard Rambarran and Secretary, Ms. Shaleeza Shaw met with Mr. Nicolas De Lacoste; Ambassador of France in Suriname and Ambassador-designate to Guyana and CARICOM, Mr. Jacques Robin; Financial Advisor and Deputy of Service, Embassy of France in Colombia, Mr. Pierre Sentenac; Economic Advisor, Head of the Regional Economic Service, Embassy of France in Colombia and Mr. Pierre Gaté; Chargé d’affaires (Representative of the French Embassy in Guyana).
Discussions included but were not limited to, the ongoing growth of Guyana’s economic sectors with an emphasis on the forecasted growth of the agriculture and agro-processing sectors, trade and investment relations and the establishment of independent bilateral partnerships/communication between the Chamber and private sector business in France.
The Chamber also took the opportunity to express the need for visa-free movement of Guyanese across French territories.
