EXCEL Believes in a Greener Today!

EXCEL Believes in a Greener Today!

Our current climate compels us that the time is now to roll up our sleeves and do all that we can to implement and transition into greener strategies to preserve our planet. Excel Logistics & Management Services  a member of  the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s (GCCI) Green Economy Committee that advocates for just that, a “Greener Today”!

Excel’s comprehensive solutions in working with foreign investors entering Guyana’s oil, gas, and mining sectors, allows the company to strategically and wholeheartedly put Guyana’s environmental needs first. By being the first responder to foreign investors, Excel can take a responsible and prudent approach when creating the nexus foreigners to Guyana’s eco and green economy. Excel continues to pursue greener policies by adopting environmentally friendly and responsible alluvial mining initiatives and advocating for land reclamation post mining.  This regulation enacted by the government and enforces by the Guyana Geology and Mine Commission’s collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources, emphasizes that land reclamation is mandatory and must be completed after mining. Reclamation and preserving the land post the mining process is key in diminishing the overall damages done to the land and its environmental components due to clearing and excavation. Excel continues to support and practice the message presented by the Guyana Geology and Mine Commission, that we need to “promote the economy in a way that is considering the environment.”[1]

‘Mercury-Free’ mining also eradicates upwards of “40% of global mercury pollution [caused] from mining.”[2] Excel prides itself in the use of “green practices” for its daily operations and uses energy saving and ecofriendly equipment in the mining sector. Excel does not support the pillaging of Guyana’s great land, therefore by keeping resources and processes localized, as well as being in compliance with all environmental laws and regulations.

Excel extends critical technical support and expertise to foreign investors as it relates to mining in an informed and responsible manner. The GCCI’s Green Economy Committee canvasses Georgetown’s industry professionals to take part in greener initiatives that will contribute to the prosperity of Guyana’s great land and our planet.

As a member of this committee, Excel is committed to championing the objectives of the GCCI’s Green Economy Committee with its clients in carving new ways to build environmental consciousness by promoting youth education with a greener focus, engaging awareness through tourism and agricultural studies, and facilitating trainings and networking events with the sole purpose of informing and educating via greener practices. Ingenuity and knowledgeability are key for Guyana and our planet. We need to share and implement learnings in order to preserve our landscape. This is the only way to Excel.
