General Accountability

Amazon Caribbean LimitedReporting directly to the Logistics Manager, the Purchaser receives requisitions from Production units and all departments of the Company. Her/his task is to get best quotation for the products and goods required. For that purpose she/he will meet suppliers once per quarter to negotiate prices and payment. The purchaser ensures that the suppliers are accepted under the International Food Standards and Organic standard in the Company, particularly focusing on making sure that supplier do not use child labour and respect human rights.

The purchaser will use her/his technical background to identify parts for machinery. She/he will keep a register of parts ordered in order to present a follow up at the weekly management meeting.

The candidate must be ready be able to work without supervision, to report quickly any discrepancy in the goods purchased.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Three (3) years work experience (or more if no degree) in a similar field
  2. Fluent in English and proficient in written and oral communication. Good reporting skills
  3. Two recommendations and 1 police clearance
  4. Computer literate. Preferably owns a laptop.
  5. Ability to work with minimal supervision and to meet deadlines
  6. Technical background
  7. Driver’s license for car and vans is a must. Own vehicle is a plus.
  8. Knowledge of French or Spanish would be a plus
