GCCI & GAPSO Security Seminar

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and the Guyana Association of Private Security Organisations (GAPSO) will be hosting a Security Seminar on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Pegasus Hotel from 9:00 hours to 12:00 hours.  The seminar is free and targets members of the business community.

The purpose of the seminar is to inform the business community on issues relating to security in Guyana and to offer advice on some of the initiatives undertaken and services offered by both public and private institutions to enhance business and personal security.

The Honourable Minister of Home Affairs, Clement Rohee will be delivering the keynote address when he officially opens the Seminar.  A team comprising of six (6) High Level Officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs will also be delivering presentations, namely: Floyd Levi, Louis Dodson, Daniel Kumar, Nakasi Nedd, Clement Henry and Shaun Coojay.  The presentation points by the team are: Integrated Crime Information System & I Paid A Bribe, Crime Trends, Crime Mapping, Safe Neighbourhoods Crime and Social Observatory and Houses of Justice.

Other key stakeholders will share best practices and trends in modern security systems, namely: Randy Storm, President of the Guyana Association of Private Security Organisations (GAPSO) who will be speaking about security in the business environment; Michael Ram, Head of Operational Risk Department, Republic Bank Guyana Limited will highlight issues relating to online banking security while Maurice Amres, Chief Executive Officer, GEB Security Services Inc., will touch on electronic security and preventative measures for fire as it relates to the business environment.  Doonauth Danny, Electrical Engineer of NT Computeac will also talk about some of the services offered by NT Computeac for business and home security.
